Abstract:
In recent past, the funding for the Municipal Dance Company of Porto Alegre (MDCPA), in the south of Brazil, was deliberately interrupted. Even so, they are stilt resisting to abyssal exclusion by occasionally dancing the company repertoire. Nevertheless, the hybridity in the dancing bodies of some of its dancers emerged as a contribution for MDCPA resistance aspect. Thus, this paper proposes the concept of amphibian dancers in order to analyze the process of hybridization in dance and its contribution for the resistance of MDCPA through two case studies.
