Abstract:
Astable high psychomental and physical performance is an important prerequisite for asuccessful career as a professional dancer; however, dance-specific working conditions and strains also entail coping strategies, which from a medical perspective represent an additional damaging potential. These include the consumption of alcohol and tobacco (cigarettes) as well as painkillers and other legal and illegal substances. This article sheds light on this topic and attempts to categorize professional dancing in terms of substance consumption.
