Article Title:Achilles tendon disorders in professional dance Part II: Eccentric strength training as a therapeutic option for midportion tendinopathies
Abstract:
The tendinopathy of the Achilles tendon is one of the most frequent overuse injuries in professional dance. Numerous options are available for treatment. Eccentric strength training is one of the recognized and accepted movement-oriented options within the framework of a conservative combined prevention and treatment concept. Studies on the effects of eccentric strength training in dance are still lacking, although they would be important both for maintaining the ability to work and a successful reintegration.
