Article Title:The concept of choreography in the midst of change

Abstract:
From examples on the context of contemporary dance in Sao Paulo, in a dialogue with other Brazilian and foreign corners, especially in the USA and Europe, we focus on updating the concept of choreography, no longer understood as repeatable fixed sequences of movements, but as a multidimensional structure which organizes bodies (human or otherwise), experiences and thoughts (of human beings or artificial intelligence). The integration of dance into museums and art galleries is described, theorizing about its departure from the theatrical parameters that were in force since the Renaissance and its approximation to the visual art ones from the 1960s. The genealogy of the concept is described to point out that today choreography surpasses the borders of dance, becoming an autonomous field of knowledge.
