Article Title:THE LINK OF ART DIRECTION IN 'DANTZA' FILM
Abstract:
The aim of this article is to analyze the movie Dantza from an art direction point of view. So far, only a very limited number of publications about art direction have been published overall. This article studies the visual and plastic effects, its artistic concept and the meaning of the natural and artistic spaces. So far, a new Basque imaginary has been constructed in this production, which took almost six years. The analysis uses the Qualitative methodology throught in-depth interviews and film analysis. In conclution, the artistic concept of a new Basque imaginary required a large number of references and some major craftwork. The art direction has required innotative approaches, such as the use of the symbolism, which has created by Koldo-bika Jauregi and inspired by previous work from anthropologist Jose Antonio Urbeltz. The cinematographer Javi Agirre created very poweful and visual shapes.
