Article Title:Superstardom in the US popular music industry revisited
Abstract:
We test if there were 'superstars' in the US popular music industry between 1955 and 2003, and reject a particular version of this hypothesis. This contradicts earlier findings and indicates the sensitivity of the conclusions to the choice of 'stardom' measure. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
