Abstract：
If More had no man or woman under vows of religion among his children, all of whom married before the age of 21, his descendants include several dozen priests, monks, friars and nuns, all forced by the penal laws to live abroad. Among those who added luster to the name are two Jesuit provincials, a Benedictine nun (daughter of Cresacre More, the biographer of his ancestor), an Augustinian prioress, and the first bishop of Birmingham, singled out for special attention in this genealogical survey.
