Abstract：
The Danish Mathematical Society celebrated its 125th anniversary in 1998. This work presents an outline of the Society's history and goes into details on some selected episodes. Among other things the society is put in a Scandinavian context. Indirectly, the work also gives an impression of several of the significant Danish mathematicians during the period of time.
