Article Title:The Portuguese community in the city of Rio Grande do Sul: Fragments of an identity
Abstract:
The Portuguese presence spread deep roots within the evolution and the history of the city of Rio Grande. It was a fundamental framework to the shape of the society in this city. In the end of the XIXth century and beginning of the XXth, the Portuguese colony intended to remark its identity, including by means of the Press, which show some fragments of the daily life and of the social, economic and political-ideological relations of these people. The study on these fragments is the objective of this research.
