Article Title:A hermeneutic in interior plants - Creator expression and sensitive knowledge of a world vision at the heart of interiorities

Abstract:
The purpose of this article is to highlight the significance, the role and the functions stemming from the presence of live plants in the interiors during the 19th and 20th centuries. The resulting historical perspective, here proposed, leads to the perception that house plants are not only decorative but also as part of an underlying creativity process. Following a comprehensive approach, the methodology of this research has been based on the recognition throughout history of patterns that could be designated as fresco-vegetal art. The comparison of these patterns with the anthropological knowledge on the interior and the vegetal imagery, allows us to propose an indoor plants hermeneutic. This hermeneutic suggests to perceive the indoor plants, during the lost 2 centuries, as the expression and the affirmation of a very particular vision of the world; one based on the research of unity of space and time.
