Article Title:Literature of a Lost Generation or Literature of Lost Chances?
Abstract:
The article studies the one-sided, simplified description of migration and parents migrating from Poland after 2004 in Polish children's and young adult literature. The author analyzes narrative strategies common for several key novels. She connects the persuasive strength of these solutions with the image of family and the division of caregiving roles in Polish culture while indicating the inadequacy of this image in light of ongoing global changes, with migration playing a significant part. The article highlights the absence of narrative schemata related to the category of resilience as a specific trait of this theme in children's literature, which may be linked to the cultural status of children in Polish culture.
