Article Title:Tinned surface in Spanish Late Bronze Age swords

Abstract:
Two weapons showing grey silver like surfaces of the Spanish Late Bronze Age were investigated using SEM and metallography. The coating layer in the best preserved dagger is 6 phase tin. This is not in agreement with the experimental results and analytical studies of archaeological items tinned by cassiterite reduction that are described in previous literature. Some conjectures are made to explain this coating layer.
